Volunteer With WWF-Canada
CN Tower Climb volunteers
Every instance of donated time and skill adds up and allows WWF-Canada to administer projects that might otherwise have to be shelved. Your involvement with WWF-Canada can help with expediting existing projects and with the development of new initiatives. The support of our Volunteers is vital to our success.
Who We Are
WWF was established in 1961 and operates in more than 100 countries, with over five million supporters worldwide. WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature by conserving the world’s biological diversity; ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable; and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.
WWF-Canada’s top priorities are fighting climate change, the single biggest environmental threat to our planet; and conserving our oceans and freshwater resources. WWF-Canada’s main office is in Toronto, with regional conservation offices located in Vancouver, Prince Rupert, St. Albert, Ottawa, Halifax and St. John’s. For more information, visit www.wwf.ca
WWF Volunteers
There are three Volunteer teams you could possibly apply for:
1) In-House: WWF-Canada benefits from the donation of time, talent and dedication, from a group of highly motivated individuals who consistently volunteer in the Toronto head office during regular office hours. Our Volunteers help with our day-to-day administrative and clerical tasks. The completion and viability of quite a number of our projects would be in jeopardy, without Volunteer perseverance and selfless assistance.
Minimum Age Requirement is 18 years of age.
2) Event Assistants: this team of over 400 Volunteers is called upon to assist us in Toronto, in April, with our most significant fundraising event: the Annual Canada Life CN Tower Climb for WWF-Canada. Without this team of Volunteers, we would simply be unable to hold this crucial fundraising event.
Minimum Age Requirement is 16 years of age*. This is the perfect opportunity for High-School students to earn up to 15hours of Community Service.
*Youth under the age of 16 years may volunteer if an adult/guardian volunteers with them in the same Team. A special request may be submitted to Volunteer Resources, which is then subject to review and approval.
3) National Ambassadors: from time to time we need Ambassadors across Canada to assist us with promoting events. These include events such as Earth Hour and Localicious. Our Ambassador Volunteers can make quite a significant impact on the success of the events.
